Rorschart
Acrylic on Paper
10.5” x 13.5”
1990

This piece was created in the early 1990’s when I was still exploring styles and methods in painting. There were several of these that I made during this period where I would take the leftover paint when I was done painting at the end of the day and used the paint globs to create these basic paintings. I’ve always loved abstract art and this piece lives somewhere between abstract art and a Rorschach test. Much like a Rorschach test helps to examine a person's personality characteristics and emotional functioning, these pieces were a great way to open up when going through artists block. They were also great for finding new color combinations and blending techniques.
