“Peace Lisa” is an 8.5" x 11" acrylic portrait on cardstock, created with a gel plate technique to reflect the electric, one-of-a-kind energy of my dear friend Lisa. She’s punk, rock, hippie, and hero all rolled into one—equal parts chaos and calm, with a love for nature that’s only slightly dangerous to fish. Our meetups are a whirlwind of ADHD-fueled tangents that somehow sync up after about an hour, and it’s in that beautiful chaos that this piece was born. Lisa has become a recent muse, and this portrait is both a tribute and a little cheer-up gift while she’s away, out of state, literally saving lives with the same fire and empathy she brings to everything she does.
I chose a vibrant, high-energy palette of neon blue and hot pink to capture her electric presence and unstoppable spirit. Her signature biohazard tattoo is marked with a bold red splash—a warning to the world that while she’s sweet and stunning, she’s not one to mess with. “Peace Lisa” is my celebration of her strength, beauty, wildness, and heart. This one’s for the punk rock guardian angel out there doing the work and still managing to make time to remind us all to stay weird, stay kind, and stay loud.
