Word on the Street
My latest piece, All is Full of Love, You Just Ain’t Receiving, measures 5.75” x 15.25” and is created with mixed media on recycled cardboard—adding both texture and meaning to the work. A deep forest green background sets the mood, dotted with delicate white paint splatters that hint at subtle signals of care and presence often overlooked. Beige stripes cut across the surface, grounding the composition, while rolled black paint enhances the natural corrugation of the cardboard, emphasizing the raw, worn nature of both material and message.
Layered over this textured surface are the words “All is full of Love” in bold white paint marker, followed below by “you just ain’t receiving” in a soft light green. The contrast in tone and color between the two phrases captures a feeling of abundance met with disconnection. This piece explores the idea that love is all around us—embedded in our environment, our experiences, even in silence—but we sometimes close ourselves off from it.
