"Love in the Big Easy" is an 8.5" x 11" gel plate transfer with acrylic on cardstock, capturing a moment of pure love and connection in the heart of New Orleans. Using a photograph I took that night as the foundation, I transferred the image of my dear friends locked in a loving embrace, their eyes reflecting the joy and magic of the city. The background swirls in rich teals, blues, and purples, echoing the neon lights reflecting off the rainy streets of the French Quarter. Their faces, painted in a soft neutral beige, stand out against the vibrant chaos, just as their love stood unwavering amidst the electric energy of Bourbon Street.
This piece is a tribute to love, music, and the unforgettable pulse of New Orleans. The colors drip and blend like the night itself—dreamy, wild, and alive with possibility. Love in the Big Easy isn't just about two people; it's about the feeling of being lost in a city that hums with history, jazz, and romance. It's a reminder that in the middle of life's loudest moments, love has a way of cutting through the noise and holding on tight.
