Into the Wild
Blue Daisies
11” x 11”
Mixed Media (Acrylic, Ink and Spray Paint) on Cardboard
2025
This is my latest painting titled "Blue Daisies," an eight and a half by eleven inch mixed media artwork on cardstock created with acrylic, ink, and spray paint. The piece was painted on the back of a cardboard box from my son’s pull up pampers as part of my ongoing effort to transform discarded materials into art and keep them out of landfills. The subject is a cluster of blue flowers in full bloom, set against a lively background of pink, light blue, and yellow, bringing both contrast and vibrancy to the composition.
The work was created quickly and with a sense of freedom, letting the materials and colors guide the process rather than strict planning. Its style clearly draws from influences of street and graffiti art, echoing the immediacy and raw energy found in those traditions. Through this piece, I wanted to highlight not only the beauty of the flowers but also the potential of everyday objects to be reshaped into something meaningful and lasting.
