Abstract
Created in the early 1990s, this work reflects a formative moment in the artist’s exploration of style and technique. During this period, the artist often repurposed remnants of studio practice—using leftover paint at the end of each session to experiment with new compositions. What might have otherwise been discarded became the foundation for a body of abstract works that balanced spontaneity with discovery.
This particular piece occupies a space between abstraction and the psychological suggestiveness of a Rorschach test. Like the inkblot, its mirrored forms invite viewers to project their own interpretations, transforming the act of looking into an intimate dialogue between artwork and observer. For the artist, these exercises functioned as a way to break through creative impasses, while also serving as laboratories for testing new color harmonies and blending techniques. The result is an artwork that embodies both process and play, opening pathways for reflection and experimentation alike.
