This is my latest painting titled "Even Across A Stadium," created using a gel plate. The work features a golden image of Taylor Swift set against a deep crimson red background, with handwritten text in golden sharpie overlaying the surface. The text includes partial lyrics from her song "Cardigan," weaving a personal layer into the composition. Across the background, the title is written in black, serving as an inside reference that some will recognize immediately. The contrast of colors and layered text creates a piece that feels both bold and intimate at the same time.
The artwork explores themes of memory, chance, and the resonance of certain moments that echo long after they first occur. These moments can feel like improbable shots in the dark, like winning the lottery or being one face among 75,000 in a stadium, yet they linger and replay endlessly in the mind. The repetition of imagery and the interplay of colors symbolize how those flashes of connection or recognition manifest again and again, shaping the way we experience art, music, and life itself.
