This painting came from a place of restraint and surrender rather than force. I approached the surface without a fixed outcome, allowing color and gesture to lead while I responded in real time. The layered blocks and sweeping marks reflect moments of hesitation and momentum, where patience was not just a theme but a requirement. Each decision builds on the last, leaving traces of what was covered, corrected, or intentionally left unresolved.
The composition moves between structure and looseness, echoing the tension I often feel between control and acceptance.
