I am so happy to introduce my newest piece titled Vera which celebrates a truly wonderful young lady I have gotten to know well over the last two years. Vera is an incredibly talented artist herself and it has been a joy to watch her creativity blossom alongside my own journey. Getting to know her and her amazing mother has been such a rewarding experience and I wanted this portrait to reflect the bright and artistic personality she shares with everyone around her.
In this painting I wanted to capture a moment of pure childhood delight as she enjoys a bowl of colorful treats. I used a vibrant palette of blues and reds to mirror the energy of the scene while maintaining the textured street art aesthetic that defines my current style. The high contrast stippling effect on her face and hands creates a unique graphic look that stands out against the layered background making the image feel both modern and timeless.
This work is the second half of a special two part series I created as a gift for her mother to honor both of her children. It was important to me to present these portraits as a pair that captures their individual spirits while showing the deep bond they share as a family. I hope these paintings bring as much joy to their home as knowing them has brought to my life over these past couple of years.
