"Odd Flowers" is a playful and layered exploration of botanical forms reimagined through a gritty, urban lens. The composition features a cluster of cloud-like, stylized floral outlines that drift across a dark, textured rectangular void. These outlines, rendered in shades of stark white and muted gold, overlap with bursts of organic color—vibrant greens, deep reds, and sunny yellows—that peek through from the layers beneath. The contrast between the raw, cardboard-toned borders and the heavy black center creates a window-like effect, as if these "odd" blooms are thriving in an unexpected, industrial environment.

The piece excels in its use of gestural linework and tactile layering, giving the flowers a sense of buoyant movement. Rather than traditional petals, the loopy, repetitive shapes suggest a more whimsical, almost street-art influenced interpretation of nature. The visible dry-brushing and mottled paint application add a weathered depth to the work, suggesting that these flowers have a history and a resilience all their own. By stripping away the delicate nature of a garden and replacing it with bold symbols and high-contrast tones, the artwork captures a unique beauty that is both unconventional and deeply captivating.
