Word on the Street
Here is my latest piece titled "Death and Life are in the Power of the Tongue", an 8.5" x 11" acrylic on cardstock work that combines visual energy with a powerful message. The words from the title are boldly written in graffiti-style blue ink, standing out against a dynamic abstract background of fiery reds, oranges, and yellows. The contrast in color is intentional, symbolizing both the heat and impact of spoken words — their ability to ignite, heal, or harm depending on how they're used.
This piece invites viewers to reflect on the immense influence words have in our lives — emotionally, socially, and spiritually. Whether it’s encouragement that lifts the soul or harsh words that crush it, language has a lasting effect on the human condition. I created this piece as a visual meditation on how speech can be either a source of life for the brokenhearted or a silent killer for those already struggling.
