Abstract
"Window Pains" is a 5.75” x 8.25” abstract piece that captures the delicate interplay between light and emotion. The watery purple background, created by thinning acrylic paint into lavender drips and splashes, evokes a sense of gentle melancholy. Across this dreamy surface, a thick translucent light yellow line stretches horizontally, symbolizing a beam of light cutting through the haze. Overlaid textured square-shaped marks add depth and dimension, inviting the viewer to interpret them as fragments of memory, glimpses through a fogged window, or the pieces of life we try to fit together.
The contrast between the flowing background and the structured marks creates a visual tension that mirrors the emotional push and pull of introspection. "Window Pains" is both soft and bold, tender and raw—a representation of looking through life’s moments, blurred yet illuminated. This work encourages viewers to linger, to find meaning in the spaces between light and shadow, and to reflect on the beauty in the imperfect and the unseen.
