Here’s an earlier piece, "Paul (1st Pull)", is an 8.5" x 11" acrylic on cardstock created using the gel plate process. It marks my initial attempt at capturing a young Paul McCartney for the series I was working on featuring The Beatles in their early days. While this version didn’t quite make the cut for the final collection, there’s something raw and intriguing about it that made it impossible to discard. The tones are moody, with slightly darker-than-intended hair giving Paul an almost ghostlike quality—haunting, reflective, and full of unspoken story.
There's a unique charm in these first pulls, especially when they don’t go as planned. The imperfections become part of the piece’s identity, and "Paul (1st Pull)" carries that early-in-the-process magic—an unfiltered creative moment that deserves to be shared. It feels like the perfect artwork for a giveaway: it's authentic, limited, and tells its own little story.
