Into the Wild
Flamingo King was created on a piece of discarded wood I found along the way. It features a flamingo adorned with a crown, a pearl necklace, and a blooming hibiscus plant. I chose bright blues and teals to contrast with the vibrant pink of the flamingo, creating a striking and playful visual balance. The piece began with a dark blue-green, muted background and evolved outward through a Sharpie outline and multiple layers of acrylic paint. It was a fun and dynamic process, transitioning from thick base coats to fine, detailed brushstroke overlays as the painting took shape.
This piece was gifted to our dear friend Marina. I couldn’t imagine a more welcoming home for any of my artwork, and I’m truly happy she chose to display it in her office. She’s a wonderful, caring person and a positive influence on our little family—someone who brings warmth and joy wherever she goes.
