This is my latest painting titled "Mr. Worldwide," an eight and a half by eleven inch acrylic and gel plate transfer on cardstock. The subject is none other than Miami’s own Pitbull, a figure who holds a special place in the hearts of many in South Florida. His story is one of perseverance and pride, with his family leaving Cuba in search of freedom and opportunity. Over the years, he has grown from a rapper known as Mr. 305 into the global figure we now know as Mr. Worldwide, all while staying deeply connected to his roots.
Pitbull’s impact reaches beyond music. He has been an outspoken critic of the Cuban dictatorship, a consistent supporter of education, and a helping hand in times of crisis, especially in the aftermath of hurricanes. Through this portrait, I aimed to capture both his charisma and his commitment to the community that shaped him. This work is not just a tribute to an artist, but to a man who embodies the spirit, resilience, and pride of South Florida.
