Abstract
"Traces" is a 6" x 9" abstract exploration of connection and memory. Rough horizontal and vertical lines in rusted reds, tans, and muddy browns evoke the passage of time, while a bold light gray vertical line and a striking pink horizontal line intersect at the heart of the composition. At this intersection, three purple fingerprints are stacked, adding a deeply personal and human touch. This piece is a meditation on how our lives leave marks—some deliberate, some accidental—on the spaces and people we encounter, forming a map of experiences and emotions.
The texture and earthy tones of "Traces" create a raw, weathered aesthetic that contrasts with the vibrant pink and purple accents, symbolizing resilience and individuality within the chaos. The fingerprints at the center are a reminder of the impact we have on the world, even in fleeting moments. This piece invites viewers to reflect on the layers of their own stories, the connections that shape them, and the marks we leave behind.
