Into the Wild
This painting was created for a close friend who loved fishing. At the time this was created he was also helping his son launch his fishing business. The Mahi Mahi would become the logo and mascot for Reel Tease Fishing. There are some things that were close to my friends heart and they were his kids, family and a love for fishing. He loved life and knew how to live it.
It fills my heart to see his sons business thriving and the family traditions continue to this day. One of those traditions continues to be fishing. This is also one of the more popular pieces I’ve created. I know, somewhere on the other side, of the fence he’s saying “I told you so paaaaartner” every time someone asks me if this is for sale or I get a download. This is the only one and it was a hard piece to create with all the tiny splashes and drip patterns that I created with tiny drops and blowing them around to get the shapes. At times I was out of air and blue in the face. It wasn’t easy but I love the end result and I know he loved it too (funny story on that as well). Reminds me of a quote he once told me and I’ll leave you all with his quote:
“Partner, if fishing was easy they would’ve called it catching”
