Dandelions
Dandelions
Mixed Media (Acrylic, Ink, Spray Paint) on Cardboard
5.5” x 15”
2025

My latest piece is titled "Dandelions," a 5.5 x 15 inch acrylic painting on recycled cardboard. Created with soft pastels in shades of aqua and beige, the background has a dreamy, ethereal quality that invites stillness and reflection. Layered over this gentle atmosphere are prints of dandelions, floating like soft memories across the surface. The long, narrow format gives the piece a natural rhythm, like a quiet breath or a passing breeze, and the contrast between the delicate forms and the raw texture of the cardboard adds depth and quiet tension.

At its heart, "Dandelions" is about transformation—turning something discarded into something poetic. The recycled cardboard, taken from an ordinary box, becomes a canvas for nature's fleeting beauty. In doing so, the piece subtly reclaims space for what is often overlooked or thrown away, both in material and meaning. It is a reminder that beauty can emerge from the most unlikely places, and that even the smallest elements of nature carry a quiet resilience worth honoring.
