Into the Wild
In 2018, I created a painting titled "Black Willow," a piece that seeks to capture both the strength and grace of nature. At its center is the silhouette of a willow tree, its form bending gently as if caught in an unseen wind. Behind it, a golden brown square provides a warm and grounding backdrop, while a thick, faded red rectangle commands the center of the composition, offering a striking contrast that heightens the tension between softness and solidity.
To deepen the work’s atmosphere, I layered translucent white brushstrokes of acrylic across the lower section, adding both movement and texture. These subtle veils create a sense of ethereal light, suggesting the presence of something fleeting and delicate within the scene. "Black Willow" becomes not only a portrait of a tree but also a meditation on balance, where vibrant hues and quiet layers coexist, inviting viewers to pause and enter into the contemplative rhythm of nature’s dance.
