Street / Urban Art
This is my latest mixed media piece titled "Fortune Teller" measuring 11 by 14 inches. The work merges elements of cartoon, street art, and fine art into a single layered composition. It began with a chaotic background of spontaneous paint strokes and blended colors. On top of this, I added a cartoon-style sketch of a gypsy fortune teller that I had drawn separately. Once glued into place, I sealed the piece with an acrylic spray before coloring in the figure. The background includes the hand-written phrase "Tell me why you have come to see me" which serves as a central message in the piece.
This artwork explores the deeply human desire to seek answers through mysticism. Whether through religion, astrology, spirituality, or belief in universal energies, many of us find ourselves drawn to the mystical when seeking clarity or comfort. Personally, I have often found meaning and reflection through these practices, and this piece is a visual representation of that internal journey. I also made a point to use recycled cardboard and leftover paints and paper, transforming discarded materials into something meaningful while making a small effort to reduce waste.
