Something Sweet
Acrylic on Cardboard
8.5” x 11”
2025

Something Sweet is an 8.5" x 11" abstract artwork created on recycled cardboard, thoughtfully repurposed from everyday packaging boxes. Using bold acrylics in vibrant reds, aqua, green, and mustard, the piece is brought to life with expressive, sweeping brushstrokes and strong, squarish blocks of red and green. The composition pulses with energy, the color choices and textured surface creating a sense of playful movement and visual rhythm. There’s an organic balance between structure and spontaneity, making the piece feel both deliberate and instinctive — a sweet collision of intention and freedom.

This work also speaks to my ongoing practice of recycling materials in my art. By giving discarded cardboard a new purpose, I aim to both challenge traditional art surfaces and extend the life of materials that might otherwise end up in a landfill. Something Sweet is not just about color and form — it’s about sustainability and finding beauty in the overlooked. The vibrant palette and reused substrate come together to celebrate the idea that something sweet, lively, and meaningful can emerge from what others might throw away.
