Blue Blodder 1 and 2 are abstract works created in 2014, born out of my process of experimenting with leftover paints and materials in the studio. Often, when I have excess from other projects, I set aside paper or canvas to test color combinations and techniques. These experiments sometimes evolve into backgrounds for future works, while at other times they stand on their own as complete pieces.

Such was the case with Blue Blodder 1 and 2. Both share a unified palette and aesthetic, created through the use of a spatula and pressed paper to form abstract shapes and textures. The resulting surfaces carry an energy that feels both spontaneous and intentional, balancing chance with control. For me, these pieces represent the joy of experimentation and the unexpected completeness that can arise from simply following the flow of the creative process.
