This is my latest painting titled "King of Vegas," created using a gel plate. The artwork draws inspiration from Elvis Presley, whose presence and energy continue to influence culture and art long after his time. I wanted to capture the larger than life aura of Elvis during his Las Vegas years, when his performances became not just concerts but full spectacles of sound, color, and charisma. The piece carries bold layers and textures that reflect both the shine and the grit of that era.
I have always had a personal connection to Elvis, even in my name. Whether it is a Freudian influence or simply exposure to his music growing up, I genuinely love his sound, stage presence, and historical significance. Of all his incarnations, the later years resonate with me most. The capes, the oversized shades, the powerhouse backup chorus—he was unforgettable. This painting is both a tribute and a reflection of that larger than life persona that still fascinates and inspires me.
