My latest artwork, "Damarys By Dark," is one I am incredibly proud of and truly happy with how it turned out. I’ve known Damarys since just after she was born, and she has grown into a sweet, strong, and beautiful woman with one of the biggest hearts I know. She radiates kindness, yet she also has that fierce mommy badger energy and will not hesitate to tell you off with all the wit and charm of an Irish pirate on a rough morning. The dark tones and gold highlights in this painting capture that duality perfectly — strength wrapped in elegance, grace laced with mischief, and light glowing through the dark.
Much like the shimmer paint I used (which sadly doesn’t translate through scanning), Damarys embodies that subtle, shifting brilliance that can’t be captured in a single image. She is shimmer, magic, light, and resilience all in one. It has been a tough year for her, and I wanted this piece to serve as a reflection of her beauty, her spirit, and her unbreakable energy.
