The Inside Joke > Down To The Bones

As part of the collection "The Inside Joke: Down To The Bones," "Endless Perfection" directly builds upon the artistic foundation established last year with the well-received exhibition, "The Inside Joke: The Bare Bones of Narcissism." This year's series expands its scope far beyond narcissism to confront other dark, deeply complex corners of the human condition and psyche. With "Endless Perfection," the focus turns toward the relentless cycle of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD).

In this striking portrait, a long-haired skeletal figure leans intently over a row of small objects, meticulously adjusting them with precise, bone-fingered touch. Set against a vibrant olive-green textured background, the composition captures the hyper-fixation, agonizing demand for symmetry, and illusion of control that drives compulsive behaviors. The intense focus on making things "just right" underscores how OCD traps the mind in an exhausting quest for alignment.

By applying signature skeletal iconography to the reality of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, "Endless Perfection" lays bare the internal friction between compulsion and relief. It stands as a compelling and empathetic addition to the gallery, holding up a mirror to the unseen psychological weight of striving for an unattainable order.
