Home is Wherever I’m with You
Home is Wherever I’m with You
Mixed Media (Acrylic, Ink, Spray paint) on Cardboard
6.5” x 8”
2025

My latest piece, "Home is Wherever I'm with You", is an intimate 8" x 6.5" mixed media work created on cardboard using acrylic, ink, and spray paint. The background blends a gentle pale blue-gray with bursts of neon pink and white, creating a soft but emotionally charged contrast. At its center, a textured black block grounds the composition—a symbolic core of gravity and depth. Written over this in gold Sharpie is a single word: home. Simple. Weighted. Resonant. This piece was born in the aftermath of divorce and, like many in this body of work, is part of a deeply personal exploration of home, family, and the unshakable bond I have with my children.

What makes this piece truly magical is that it was created with my son, just as many earlier works were shared moments with my daughter. These artworks are more than paint on paper—they're artifacts of love, connection, and presence. Each mark carries not only artistic intent but the joy, tenderness, and even sorrow of parenting through transition. They're tiny treasures, living proof that home isn’t a place—it’s a feeling, a moment, a person. If I had three wishes, I’d spend every one just to hold onto the magic of being with them.
