You’ll Look For Me And Never Find Me
Mixed Media (Acrylic, Ink, Spray Paint) on Photo Paper
8.5” x 11”
2025

“You’ll look for me in them and never find me” is my latest 8.5" x 11" mixed media piece, created with acrylic, ink, and spray paint on photo paper. Using vibrant teal, light green, red, beige, and white, the work explores the emotional unraveling that happens at the end of relationships—the quiet devastation when love begins to thaw and conversations fade into silence. It reflects the painful truth of how we sometimes abandon long-term love for the fleeting validation of short-term affection and lust, chasing the illusion of something better.

This piece was born from reflection—on the heartbreak of being unseen, of craving recognition so badly that we lose sight of what we once nurtured. There’s a raw desperation in letting go too soon, in choosing distraction over depth, especially when communication feels broken beyond repair. The colors clash and blend, much like the emotions in these moments—confusion, regret, longing, and quiet rage. It’s not just about one breakup, but a shared emotional landscape so many of us navigate in silence.

What haunts me most, and what this piece hopes to express, is that many who walk away later admit they could’ve made it work. It’s a sobering truth backed by studies and interviews—divorced individuals often recognize, with time and clarity, the value of what they left behind. “You’ll look for me in them and never find me” is a visual reminder of that lingering loss, a message to the future: that love, when real, deserves a fight. And when it's gone, no imitation quite compares.
