Word on the Street
My latest piece, "Soul", is a 7" x 7" acrylic painting on recycled cardboard, created with simplicity and intention. A field of soft beige is interrupted by a single deep blue line—bold, unwavering, and reflective. This minimal yet expressive composition is meant to evoke the quiet depth of the human soul and the emotional richness of the blues—both the music and the feeling.
The contrast between the calm neutral and the heavy blue speaks to the balance of peace and sorrow that lives in all of us. Painted on reclaimed cardboard, "Soul" also honors the beauty in overlooked materials, reminding us that profound meaning can be found in the most unassuming places.
