Lately, I’ve been painting portraits of iconic musicians, cultural figures, and more—but the ones that mean the most are always the ones I create for my family and friends. There’s something special about capturing the spirit of the people who’ve shaped my life. It’s my way of honoring them, immortalizing the impact they’ve had on me. I’ve been lucky to be surrounded by incredible humans—teachers, athletes, artists, parents, mentors, and yes, even a few celebrities.
One of those people is the incomparable Lucy Lopez—aka "Miami’s Mamacita." We became friends long before her voice became a staple on the 305 airwaves, and let me tell you, she’s always been exactly who you hear on the mic: funny, passionate, deeply rooted in her community, and forever reppin’ Hialeah with pride. This portrait is a long-overdue tribute to someone who truly embodies Miami’s soul. Love you, Blue. 💙
