Into the Wild
"Buffalo 2" – 8.5" x 11" acrylic on cardstock (gel transfer).
This piece marks one of my first real experiments with gel transfer printing, pushing into new color schemes and textures. The large brown buffalo stands strong against a white field, framed by deep green trees and a muted gray-blue sky. There’s something raw and timeless about these animals—symbols of resilience, survival, and the wild spirit of the land. With each layer of paint and texture, I wanted to capture that sense of quiet power.
As I continue to explore this technique, I find new ways to bring depth and movement into my work. The unpredictability of gel transfer adds an organic, almost weathered feel—perfect for a subject as enduring as the buffalo. This is just the beginning of where this process can take me.
