Into the Wild
My latest work, Buffalo Bull, is an 8.5" x 11" acrylic gel press print on cardstock that captures the quiet power of a buffalo grazing in an open field. This image is more than just a portrait of an animal—it’s a symbol of resilience and a reflection of the vast herds that once moved like clouds across the plains. The buffalo, once as plentiful as stars in the sky, were driven to the brink of extinction through hunting, habitat loss, and land fragmentation. This piece stands as a visual reminder of what we’ve lost, and what we still have a chance to protect.
My inspiration came during my first visit to Yellowstone, where I witnessed these majestic creatures for the first time. My son, just a year old then, was filled with such pure wonder that the moment imprinted itself deeply in both of us. Even now, he remembers them—and it’s that spark of awe in his eyes that transformed this work into something deeply personal. Buffalo Bull is my promise as a parent and artist to help preserve these animals, to ensure future generations feel the same connection to nature and its wild beauty.
