My latest piece, "Feeling Blue," is an 8.5" x 11" acrylic painting on cardstock that speaks to the quiet resilience found in struggle. The painting features the silhouette of an African American woman's bust, rendered in cool blue tones, standing in stark contrast against a grungy, vibrant background of orange, scarlet, and deep red. The intense colors behind her reflect the heat, pressure, and chaos of inner-city life, while her blue form captures the emotional weight that often goes unseen.
