More Word on the Street
This is my latest painting titled "Don't Waste Your Time," part of my ongoing series "Word on the Street." This collection blends abstract art, graffiti, and typography into works that carry messages of inspiration, motivation, and healing. Each piece draws from words that have meaning in my own life—whether family advice, encouragement from friends, or lines from songs—and is then placed out in the world for strangers to find. In this way, the final artwork becomes a collaboration with chance, as God, the universe, or whatever one believes in helps connect the message to the right person at the right moment.
"Don't Waste Your Time" was painted on recycled cardboard from an Elysian beer box, continuing my commitment to reusing materials that would otherwise be discarded. The background is layered in a grungy mix of red and black, evoking urgency and raw emotion. Over this, the title words stand boldly in a deep and rich blue, outlined in yellow, demanding attention and carrying their message forward. The contrast of colors and textures emphasizes the importance of the phrase, urging the viewer to reflect on how they spend their time and what truly matters in their life.
