This is my latest artwork titled Calamity. It is a playful skeleton painting created with the spirit of the legendary Calamity Jane in mind. I had fun imagining her bold and fearless attitude as I worked on this piece. Looking back, I wish I had added a rifle and a bowler hat to complete her look, but the idea came to me only after finishing. The artwork shows a skeleton striking a classic western stance, pointing a six shooter with confidence and flair. Her weathered leather vest, frilled details, and red rag tied around her neck give her that unmistakable gunslinger charm.
The painting is done in soft muted blues and rich leather tones, set against a background that shimmers from pale green to orange, giving it a warm southwestern feel. The colors and textures combine to capture both grit and beauty, celebrating the adventurous energy of the Old West.
