Viter Juste
Acrylic on Watercolor Paper
5” x 7”
2025

This is my latest painting titled "Viter Juste," a five by seven inch acrylic on watercolor paper. It was created as part of my ongoing participation in the Mail Art Movement, through which I share pieces that reflect Florida’s wildlife, politics, culture, and history with people around the world. For this work, I chose to highlight the neighborhood of Little Haiti and honor its founder, Viter Juste, whose vision and leadership shaped a community that continues to be a cultural landmark in Miami.

The piece is both a tribute to his legacy and a celebration of the rich heritage he helped preserve. Through vibrant colors and layered textures, I sought to capture the energy of Little Haiti while also portraying the dignity and strength of its people. This work is a reminder of how individuals can shape entire communities and leave a lasting imprint on the cultural landscape.
