Little Dimensions
Acrylic and Ink on Cardboard
11.5” x 12”
2025

This abstract piece began with an empty Rao’s pizza box that I saved from becoming waste. I wanted to turn something ordinary and destined for a landfill into a surface that could hold new energy and meaning. Working on the cardboard felt grounding, and its texture helped guide the first layers of brown and tan paint. Over these base tones, I used brushes to lay down flowing teal lines, letting them move freely until the composition started to take shape.

Once the structure emerged, I added glitter paint with reflective flecks that catch light in unpredictable ways. I rolled bright yellow paint in vertical strokes to form oval marks, then introduced uneven green marker lines to break up the space. Some of these I traced with a bright blue marker, others I shadowed with deeper green, following an intuitive rhythm. Each mark was a response to the last, building a layered conversation across the surface of this small, repurposed canvas.
