This piece is part of my Word on the Street series, where I leave small works in public spaces for anyone to find. I want these pieces to spark reflection, curiosity, or inspiration in whoever discovers them. In this painting I layered questions across a textured background made of fractured color and shifting tones. The central phrase How Do I Know That stands boldly in green and blue, while a cloud of smaller handwritten questions drifts across the surface. These quieter words echo the doubts and uncertainties that fill our minds when we pause to examine the things we accept as truth.

For me this work is about the tension between belief and inquiry. Rumors, assumptions, and half remembered stories often make their way into our thoughts without us noticing. By crowding the painting with questions, I wanted to capture the overwhelming yet necessary process of examining where our ideas come from. The layered text and colors create a sense of mental noise that encourages the viewer to slow down and think more carefully. When I leave a piece like this on the street, I hope it meets someone at exactly the moment they need to ask their own questions.
