More Word on the Street
This piece was born from those moments of exhaustion where the finish line feels just out of reach, yet the momentum is too strong to quit. "Keep Pushing, You’re Almost Getting There" isn't just a motivational phrase; it’s a mantra of endurance. I wanted to capture that internal dialogue we all have when the weight of a project or a dream starts to feel heavy. It’s an acknowledgment of the raw effort required to bridge the gap between where we are and where we are destined to be.
Visually, I leaned into a raw, street-inspired aesthetic to mirror the grit and "noise" of the message. The bold, purple lettering outlined in high-contrast yellow stands in sharp defiance against the chaotic, weathered background. By working on a textured, industrial surface and layering impulsive washes of red, teal, and earth tones, I’ve represented the messy reality of progress. The background is a blur of setbacks and distractions, while the central message remains clear and unwavering, cutting through the static.
As the artist, I view this work as a reflection of the creative process itself—imperfect, layered, and constantly moving forward. It is meant to serve as a visual anchor for anyone feeling the fatigue of the grind. I hope that when viewers stand before this piece, they feel a sense of permission to be messy in their pursuit, as long as they don't stop. It’s a celebration of the stubbornness it takes to finally cross that line.
