More Word on the Street
"Make Memories With The Right People" is a piece defined by its raw, urgent energy, designed to cut through the visual noise of the urban landscape. The message is rendered in bold, blocky, graffiti-style letters—deep purple outlined in shimmering gold—that demand immediate attention. This directive sits atop a chaotic, multi-layered background explosion of neon pinks, gritty blacks, deep greens, and frenetic scrawls. The aesthetic is intentionally unpolished and immediate, mirroring the transient, fast-paced environment of the city streets where it is destined to live.
This painting is not meant for the static environment of a traditional gallery; it is a crucial part of my ongoing "Word on the Street" project. I create these works as "street drops," deliberately leaving them in random public spaces—on a park bench, leaning against a brick wall, or tucked near a subway entrance—for unsuspecting passersby to discover. The core concept is based on serendipity and interaction. It is an artistic act of letting go, trusting that the piece will find its way into the hands of the person who needs to encounter it at that exact moment in time.
Ultimately, the message serves as a grounding anchor amidst the chaos of daily life. In the hustle of the grind, it’s easy to operate on autopilot. This painting is meant to be a vibrant, unexpected interruption that forces a pause for reflection. I want the finder to stop and consider the quality of their connections, serving as a guerrilla-style reminder to prioritize the people who make the journey worthwhile. It’s a small, colorful rebellion against isolation, offered freely to the street.
