More Abstract
I am pleased to present my latest abstract piece titled Bao Negative which marks a distinct departure from my recent figurative work. This painting represents an exploration of raw energy and the beauty found in deconstructing traditional forms. By stripping away specific imagery I have allowed the layers of color and texture to speak for themselves creating a composition that invites the viewer to find their own meaning within the chaos.
The work is defined by its striking use of red and black accents set against a neutral cardboard base which provides a natural and grounded feel. I focused heavily on the concept of negative space and how it interacts with the more dominant shapes such as the circles and vertical lines that anchor the piece. The application of white paint creates a sense of light and movement that cuts through the darker elements giving the entire work a dynamic and rhythmic quality.
Creating Bao Negative was an exercise in intuition and balance as I worked to harmonize the bold geometric patterns with more organic and fluid brushstrokes. The title refers to the idea of capturing what is often overlooked or left behind in the creative process. It serves as a reminder that there is power in the spaces between the lines and depth in the simplicity of basic forms. This piece is a celebration of the experimental spirit that drives my artistic journey forward.
