More Abstract
My newest mixed media creation titled Us Box serves as a companion to my previous work while pushing the boundaries of my collage technique. I wanted to explore the idea of unity and connection through the physical layering of reclaimed materials. By using cardboard and paper I am building a visual narrative that feels grounded and tangible. This piece is an invitation to consider the strength found in our collective identity as we navigate the complexities of modern life.
In terms of construction I utilized a variety of textures to create a sense of history and depth. The central square of weathered cardboard acts as a focal point where vibrant yellow and pink highlights emerge from a gritty surface. I layered deep teal and rich brown tones to provide a rhythmic backdrop that echoes the energy of the street. Every element was carefully placed to ensure that the raw and unrefined nature of the materials remains the star of the show while maintaining a cohesive and balanced composition.
Completing Us Box has been a rewarding part of my ongoing artistic journey as I continue to experiment with found objects. It represents my desire to find beauty in the everyday and to transform simple items into a statement about our shared world. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to share this new addition to my portfolio with all of you. Your support allows me to keep exploring these creative paths and I look forward to hearing how this work speaks to your own sense of community.
