The Inside Joke > Down To The Bones

As part of the collection "The Inside Joke: Down To The Bones," "I Carry An Audience To The Bones" directly advances the journey that began with last year's well-received exhibition, "The Inside Joke: The Bare Bones of Narcissism." This year's gallery expands its reach far beyond narcissism to explore other dark, deeply complex corners of the human condition and psyche. With "I Carry An Audience To The Bones," the focus turns toward the disorienting, interior landscape of Schizophrenia.

In this visceral composition, a solitary skeletal figure sits curled tightly on the floor, attempting to shield itself against a swirling background of rich red and fiery hues. Looming intimately around the subject are shadowy, spectral figures cupping their hands to whisper and chatter endlessly into its ears. The artwork powerfully translates the invisible, suffocating weight of auditory and sensory hallucinations—capturing a reality where uninvited spectral voices follow every step.

By applying signature skeletal iconography to the experience of Schizophrenia, "I Carry An Audience To The Bones" strips away superficial judgment to expose the profound vulnerability and isolation behind internal noise. It stands as a haunting and empathetic centerpiece within the gallery, holding up an honest mirror to the relentless psychological crowd so many silently endure.
